Synopsis

Quiet Rhythm is a short film by filmmaker Samantha Schutz, created in collaboration with painter Susan Sommer. The film intimately traces Sommer’s lifelong creative journey — tracing her development from early inspiration through decades of artistic exploration grounded in both classical training and natural observation.

As brush meets canvas, Quiet Rhythm reveals the deep, intuitive cadence between artist and environment, thought and movement, rhythm and expression. A portrait of process as much as of the artist herself, the film offers a rare, contemplative glimpse into the transformation of plein air into bold, abstract art.
